The past year would appear to have been somewhat of a mixed bag in regards to immigration and immigrants. From deferred action for “Dreamers”, immigrants workers gaining union certification to 409,849 people getting deported, the highs and lows seems skewed. A new “detainer policy/memo along with the report of a drop in backlogged cases in the Immigration Court adds to the murkiness. Immigrants’ presence and voices within the flow of Occupy had its own resonance last year and is still resonating in this new one.
