Arizona in Minnesota

May 6, 2010

via Michele Garnett McKenzie of the Advocates for Human Rights:

Legislation has been introduced in Minnesota’s legislature this afternoon modeled exactly on the Arizona law. The legislation was introduced as a floor amendment (the deadline for introducing legislation has passed this session) and the process is a fast-moving one.

We are working with the local coalition of advocates to pull together statements of opposition to this provision. If any groups are issuing statements opposing this copy-cat legislation, please send me a copy to include in a unified response packet we’ll be submitting to the media later today: mmckenzie (@) advrights.org

Minnesota’s proposed legislation can be found here.
