Audio: Nancy Meza on Detention, the DREAM Act & Downpayment for Reform

On November 17, undocumented students and allies staged a die-in in front of the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles with their cap and gowns to symbolize the death of their dreams and futures if DREAM Act doesn’t pass.  Undocumented students will launch a week of action to pass the DREAM Act during “Lame Duck” session of congress.

“We urge Senator Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to bring the Federal DREAM Act to a vote and keep their dreams alive.”

During the rally, Nancy Meza spoke about why they chose to hold the die-in in front of a detention center and how the DREAM Act relates to larger immigration reform. To listen, click the orange and white arrow below (or download the audio file here):
