Music for Dignity: Your Tunes Needed for DWN Conference Promo & Beyond

January 25, 2011

We’re working on a promotional video short for the Austin conference and I thought I’d see if any of DWN’s supporters out there are musicians.

Up until now, our videos have benefited from donated music by Moby and Jon Fromer.

Knowing how talented social justice activists are, I figured there must be some songwriters and musicians willing to lend some tunes to challenge immigration detention.

Specifically, we’re looking for instrumental tracks (no lyrics*) under 3 minutes long that are royalty-free and rousing (kinda like the music from last year’s video). Personally I’d love something with a bluegrass twang (the conference is in Austin) but I’m open to the unexpected. If we don’t use your music for the promo, we might be able to use it for other video projects in the near future. If we use your music, we’ll definitely credit you and link to your website.

* If you’ve written a song with lyrics about challenging immigration detention or advocating for immigrant rights, we’d love to hear that too!

Send your audio file or a link to your audio file to tech(at)detentionwatchnetwork.org Many thanks again!
