STOP Extreme Amendments in the Senate Immigration Bill!
PLEASE CALL SENATE LEADERSHIP THIS AFTERNOON!!

Senate 744 is moving forward for debate this week. The latest bill includes the very damaging Corker-Hoeven amendment which will require an additional 20,000 border patrol agents, increased drone surveillance, and an additional 700 miles of border fencing at an estimated cost of $48 billion over 10 years.

Right now Senate leadership is negotiating over what additional amendments they will allow to go forward for consideration in the bill. There is a very real danger that additional detention and enforcement provisions could be added as part of the negotiation, including:

Inhofe 1203/1560: dramatically expands indefinite detention
Sessions 1334: this amendment is the entire text of the House “SAFE Act” H.R. 2278 which includes a long list of extreme and draconian interior enforcement, detention and deportation provisions.

Grassley 1570 (same as Grassley #1299 and Grassley #43): Further expands the inadmissibility of and deportability of individuals who are alleged gang members.

PLEASE CALL SENATE LEADERSHIP THIS AFTERNOON!!

Script: My name is _____ calling from ____. I urge you to oppose Inhofe 1203/1560, Sessions 1334 and Grassley 1570. These amendments are completely out of step with U.S. values and represent the views of the nativist, anti-immigrant extremists. I urge you to recognize the majority support for efforts to pass common sense, just immigration reform. Please vote “NO” on Inhofe 1203/1560, Sessions 1334 and Grassley 1570.
